Shortcuts that work in all Microsoft Office programs

CTRL + A - selects all text and objects within the screen or document (depending on program).
CTRL + N - creates a new document.
CTRL + W - closes a document.
CTRL + P - prints a document.
CTRL + S - saves a document.
CTRL + D - duplicates a selected object.
DOUBLE-CLICK a word - selects a word in most Office programs (to format, move, or delete).
F4 - repeats the last action.
F7 - runs Spellcheck.
ALT + F4 - closes the program.
ALT + TAB - navigates between open programs.
WINDOWS KEY + M  - minimizes all open windows, and shows the Desktop.

CTRL + SPACEBAR - selects an entire column in a worksheet.
SHIFT + SPACEBAR - selects an entire row in a worksheet.
CTRL + PAGE DOWN | CTRL + PAGE UP - moves to the next or previous sheet in a workbook.
CTRL + 1 - displays the Format Cells dialogue box.
CTRL + ~ - applies the General number format.
CTRL + & - applies the outline border to the selected range.
CTRL + _ - removes the outline border from the selected range.
CTRL + : - enters the current time.
CTRL + ; - enters the current date.
F3 - pastes a defined name into a formula.
CTRL + L - creates a table of the selected range.
F11 - creates a chart of the selected range.

SHIFT + F5 - takes you to your last revision location, including from an opened document.
CTRL + * (SHIFT 8) - turns on Show/Hide.
CTRL + SPACEBAR - removes formatting from selected text.
CTRL + BACKSPACE - deletes one word to the left.
CTRL + DELETE - deletes one word to the right.
CTRL + F - finds text, and formatting.
CTRL + ENTER - inserts a Page break.
CTRL + SHIFT + SPACEBAR - creates a nonbreaking space.
CTRL + HYPHEN - creates a nonbreaking hyphen.
ALT + X - displays the Unicode character code for the selected text.
PAGE UP | PAGE DOWN - moves up or down within a selected gallery.
CTRL + HOME | CTRL + END - moves to the beginning or end of the document.

CTRL + A - selects all objects.
CTRL + K - displays the Insert Hyperlink dialogue box.
SHIFT + F9 - displays or hides the grid.
ALT + F9 - displays or hides the guides.
F5 - starts a presentation from the beginning.

While presenting:
Press 'B' - displays a black screen, and press any key to return to the presentation.
Press 'W' - displays a white screen, and press any key to return to the presentation.
'Slide #' + ENTER - goes to a specific slide number.  ie 1 + ENTER to return to the first slide.
F1 - displays the Slide Show Help window - with more tips.
CTRL + T - displays the Taskbar in Slide Show mode.

CTRL + 1 - go to the Mail/Inbox view.
CTRL + 2 - go to the Calendar view.
CTRL + 3 - go to the Contacts view.

CTRL + N - creates a new item based on the selected view, ie New Email, New Appointment...
CTRL + SHIFT + M - creates a new email (from any Outlook view).
CTRL + R - reply to the selected email message.
CTRL + SHIFT + R - reply to all for the selected email message.
CTRL + F  - forward the selected email message.
CTRL + ALT + F - forward the selected email as an attachment.
CTRL + ALT + J - marks a message as Junk.
F9 - checks for new messages.

CTRL + SHIFT + F2 - unlinks the selected tasks.
ENTER - move to the next task.
SHIFT + ENTER - moves to the previous task.
CTRL + MINUS SIGN - deletes the row with the selected task.
ALT + SHIFT + RIGHT ARROW - indents the selected task.
ALT + SHIFT + LEFT ARROW - outdents the selected task.

F4 - toggles the property sheet.
F5 - switches between Form view from form Design view.
ALT + ENTER - displays a property sheet.
TAB or RIGHT ARROW - moves to the next field.
END - moves to the last field in the current record, in Navigation mode.
CTRL + PAGE DOWN - moves to the current field in the next record.
CTRL + PAGE UP - moves to the current field in the previous record.
CTRL + ALT + SPACEBAR - insert the default value for a field.
CTRL + ' (APOSTROPHE) - inserts the value from the same field in the previous record.
CTRL + ; - inserts the current date.
SPACEBAR - switches between the options in a checkbox or option button.

CTRL + T - switches between making an object transparent or opaque (with a white fill colour).
ALT + F6 - brings the selected object to front.
ALT + SHIFT + F6 - sends the selected object to back.
CTRL + K - displays the Insert Hyperlink dialogue box.
F9 - switches between the current view and the actual size.
CTRL + SHIFT + L - zooms to full page view.
CTRL + SHIFT + B - previews your webpage publication in browser view (ie Internet Explorer).

F2 - switches between text edit mode and shape selection mode on a selected shape.
CTRL + G - groups the selected shapes.
CTRL + SHIFT + U - ungroups shapes in the selected group.
SHIFT + F7 - displays the open drawing windows (tiled vertically).
ALT + F6 | ALT + SHIFT + F6- zooms in or zooms out of the screen.
